Blessed. I’m not one to use this word often (or ever), but this is truly how I feel since leaving the breathtaking beachside oasis of Mizata. Alongside my co-hostess, Agathe, and our beautiful group of butterflies, I was cracked WIDE open. My heart outpours with love and gratitude for this experience and this incredible life. Witnessing the group expand their wings is something that will live in my heart for eternity.

There are moments in life that mark a turning point - where something within us shifts, releases, and makes space for what’s next. That’s exactly what happened during our Metamorfosis Retreat on the sun-drenched shores of El Salvador. From the moment our group arrived, there was a feeling in the air—an unspoken invitation to soften, to listen, and to reconnect with what matters most. Nestled between jungle and ocean, Mizata became more than just a backdrop—it was our sanctuary.

Each day was a journey. We would rise with the sun, the sound of waves crashing steps away from our bedrooms and fresh brewed coffee awaiting us at the commons area. We began with breath, movement, and meditation to awaken our bodies and hearts. Luxurious rest times were spent journaling, sipping fresh pressed juice poolside, receiving massages, or catching a wave. Afternoons were filled with workshops, meditations, breathwork, and restorative yoga + sound healing sessions.
Metamorfosis wasn’t just a name—it was the lived experience of transformation. Agathe and I worked to weave in the alchemical stages throughout our journey—Calcination, Dissolution, Separation, Conjunction, Fermentation, Distillation, and Coagulation—so we could each met ourselves in a new way. We let go. We let it be messy. We remembered. We found ourselves. We began again.

From powerful morning flows to gentle evening sound baths, our practices invited both release and renewal. We shared stories and laughter over nourishing meals and let the rhythm of the waves lull us into deeper presence. We explored, we reflected, and we surrendered. We climbed to waterfalls, danced by bonfires, and laid under the sky, embraced by an almost full moon, in awe of the vastness above and within. Bonds were formed that transcended language, background, or experience. We arrived as strangers and left as family.

Two of our most powerful experiences on this journey were our sacred ceremonies with local shamans. We kicked off our retreat with a very special Mayan blessing led by Flor with support from her son. This truly set the tone for our retreat as we gathered in circle to honor the spirit of the land, set our intentions, and remember the wisdom that lives not only in ancient traditions, but within each of us. The second evening, we sweated under the stars in a traditional temazcal led by Flor’s husband. We released what was no longer serving our minds, hearts, bodies, and spirits so we could be reborn anew.
To everyone who said yes to this adventure: thank you. Your courage, vulnerability, and joy shaped this container into something truly sacred.
And to those feeling the call—trust it. Retreats don’t just change your location; they change your life.
